JOSE IGNACIO BLESA LULL

Jose I. Blesa Lull was born in Llíria, Valencia in Spain. He completed his studies at the Conservatorio Municipal de Valencia and Conservatori Superior de Música de Castelló where he earned degrees in Composition, Conducting, Clarinet, Musicology, and Music Education and the Special Prize in Composition Studies. As a multi-award winning composer, his music has been performed internationally in Spain, the United States, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines, Japan, Belgium, Brazil, France, Italy, Colombia, Argentina, Portugal, and Mexico. His works have received play by soloists and ensembles including José Franch-Ballester, Spanish Brass Luur Metals, Dario Sotelo, Alberto Roque, Manuel Galduf, Council Bands of Valencia, Mallorca, Bilbao, Santiago de Compostela, Córdoba (Argentina), Banda Sinfonica do Estado do São Paulo (Brazil), and Orquesta de Sopros ESML (Lisboa). Recently, Jose has conducted his own music with Tainan Wind Ensemble (Taiwan), Drexel University Concert Band, MusikVerein Heitersheim (Germany), Banda de Música de Pontevedra, Orquesta de Sopros do Medio Tejo and Academia de Musicos de Abrantes (Portugal), Pihalni Orkester Zelezarjev (Slovenia), Banda del Conservatori de Tortosa, and Banda de Música de Felanitx. Currently, Jose lives in Amherst, Massachusetts where he pursues a Masters in Wind Conducting at University of Massachusetts with Dr. Matthew Westgate.
